Blockage of ripeness
Ripeness can be affected under certain climatic and varietal conditions, especially in Mediterranean climates. It is not rare to see ripeness with high alcohol levels, with to the contrary, delayed and problematic phenolic ripeness.
Grape quality is thereby reduced. These anomalies can be overcome by a yearly plan.
In the case of blockage of sugar metabolism, a common occurrence among late-blooming mourvedre or petit verdot varieties, a leaf-oriented solution will allow for an effective response to the problem encountered.
