Soil and subsoil analyses We scrupulously measure the various components: particle size, pH, organic matter, mineral elements, chloretic power level, salinity control, C:N ratio, biological life indexes, etc. These analyses provide us with the growth history of the soils, as well as their fundamental characteristics, making it possible for us to act afterwards in accordance with the strictest of agricultural needs, without upsetting major balances. Leaf, berry and wood analyses Méthode Cousinié® certified analytical laboratories carry out research in partnership with our agronomists. Each new element of our analytical investigations results in the instantaneous updating of our Méthode Cousinié® Reference System. This research also leads to improvement of new active ingredients within each range of nutritional and corrective products for soil and leaves. Quality Chain The Méthode Cousinié® must guarantee its objectives through a draconian selection of experts in every related field, in order to achieve the “Méthode Cousinié quality". More than just recruiting, the method assigns priority to individuals able to demonstrate their skills at the human and relationship level, as well as their enthusiasm about joining an environmental cause with all of its technical, communicative and cultural aspects.
Analytical Chart The Méthode Cousinié is vital, owing to:
- its rigorous technical activities beginning with sampling: cartography, specific sampling, codifying and handling.
- the accuracy of its analyses, controls and published results.
- the filing of data by site, period and farm.
- Reading and interpretation of data within an organized reference system available in real time, with the Méthode Cousinié “agricultural culture”.
Cousifertyl® Fertilizer and amendment product ranges designed in accordance with nutritional precepts prepared by the Méthode Cousinié®. Based on sheepfold manure and fibro-woody components with a controlled natural origin, we create custom-made formulas upon request. Beginning with effective formulas with an acknowledged superior assimilation potential, Soil Concepts, we have created more than 100 different formulas adapted to multiple nutritional needs.
Cousifolia® CousiFolia® foliage proposes new active ingredients, high-performing and productive, for viticulture and arboriculture. These liquid fertilizers and corrective measures meet regulatory requirements for the environment. Highly soluble, they enhance assimilation of active components with a minimum of loss from leaching. Cousifolia® includes 24 basic formulas that meet all plant nutritional needs. Ingredient mixes are possible for particular applications, especially during crises that endanger plant physiological state: Cousifolia® Flash Vine Product Range.
Natural defense The Méthode Cousinié® enhances vine auto-resistance by restoring soils and by a targeted application of leaf treatments, especially during risk situations. We have noted the optimal performance of our vines following climatic incidents such as hail, wind, drought or extreme temperature shifts.
Tailor-made fertilizer formula This concept makes it possible to put together on order every corrective measure necessary for solving problems that arise. The nature of the components, with their complex formulation, is adapted in keeping with land plot characteristics – calcareous, shistose, clayey, or humid land, or otherwise very dry land. Depending on needs, magnesium or calcium supplements are added, making full corrections possible with a single pass.
Méthode Cousinié® Invented by Jean-Pierre Cousinié, its purpose is to develop a healthy wine-growing and arboreal agricultural practice that respects the environment. It consists of restoring soil balance using natural and non-polluting nutritional substances. It also acts by means of nutritional intake and leaf corrective measures. It makes mastery of nutritional balances possible during the entire vine growth cycle. The Méthode Cousinié® expands and regulates biomineral mechanisms involving exchange and assimilation. It stimulates the auto-resistance of the plant, therefore reducing the number of treatments. The Méthode Cousinié® plays an active role in enriching the taste of wines and in output requalification.
Oligo-elements The nature of the components, with their complex formulation, is adapted to the physical-chemical characteristics of land plots – calcareous, shistose, clayey, or humid land, or otherwise very dry land. Oligo-elements must be applied in accordance with strict rules, inasmuch as an excess could be more harmful than a shortage. Oenological properties of the harvest By “gently” carrying out our actions, there is a highly objective impact on vine performance and therefore on the appearance and organo-mineral make-up of the berries. For example, the oenological result of bunch lengthening, the increasing thickening of the skin, which we enhance, is a higher degree of sanitary quality as well as greater polyphenolic (tannins, anthocyanins) and aromatic concentration of the harvest. We have noted that by helping the plant to fight against hydric stress, we trigger major changes in the acidimetric constitution of the must, and then of the wine; this action is particularly profitable for white and rosé wines. Nowadays, these objectives are the underpinnings of our research and our actions in the field, at the service of a natural, serene oenology.
Cumulative assimilation potential The C:N (carbon:nitrogen) ratio determines the speed at which organic matter is transformed and nitrogen is released. Mineralization of an organic substrate, by the intermediary action of microorganisms, results in faster carbon loss than for nitrogen, with the C:N ratio dropping as the product changes. This ratio varies in keeping with the type of organic matter used and the quality of its support. The solubility of organo-mineral substances and particle fineness, together with humic fixation, allows for optimum assimilation with no risk that leaching will dissolve our Cousifertyl fertilizers and soil concepts. Méthode Cousinié® Reference System Database systematized by winegrowing or arboreal farm, wherein we group the measures we take in the field, our analyses, our recommendations, and our chronological and physical observations. Each winegrowing business thus has its own identification card that can be utilized at any time during our activity cycle. This systematizing and utilization of data comes under the ISO 9001 Standard classification for Jean Pierre Cousinié’s company.
Environmental Quality Management System COUSINIE Ets maintain a documented environmental quality management system, designed and implemented for the purpose of meeting the requirements of the chosen standards: ISO 9001 and 14001. The Environmental Quality Management System provides input into the Reference System so as to organize the following in a single way:
- techniques for mastering finished products,
- analyses performed by rigorously selected laboratories,
- related services and the controls applied to them.
Our obligation is to fully satisfy the COUSINIE Ets partners owing to the fact that our company’s activities have been fully mastered and defined as such.
