Château Landure (Mailhac) Print
Carried out on the property since 1987, the Méthode Cousinié has made it possible to show the consistency of harvests from both a quantitative and qualitative standpoint, by means of adopting varieties to the terroir.

By the adaptation of manuring to the land, as well as nutritional additives during the growth phase, phytosanitary treatments are reduced to a minimum.

Certain major weather happenings have punctuated this period, for example on June 1, 1997, when 250 millimeters of rain fell over 5 hours. Anti-mildew treatments could not be carried out for two weeks, though even so no extensive damage occurred.

A well-fed vine produces high-quality grapes without loss of leaves, nor having to pick green grapes. For marketing our wines, we have joined the Val d'Orbieu Group in Narbonne, whose policy is to pay for wines in keeping with their qualitative classification, determined by blind tasting.

As a result, every year for the 10 years following implementation of this rigorous selection we are selected owing to our Cuvée Mythique VDP d'OC, as well as for our Cuvée très Haut de Gamme AOC Minervois. This involves maintaining rigorous traceability, and having wines with absolutely nothing that could hinder their marketing (OTA, residues of phytosanitary products). Control analyses are performed after harvesting by an oenological inspection laboratory.

The wines obtained by this method age well (5 years and longer), and alcohol-malolactic fermentation culminates without problems. Production costs are cut sharply in as much as the application of nutritional additives eliminates leaf loss and the manual harvesting of green grapes.

Thanks to the Méthode Cousinié, which we have employed for more than 20 years, our wines have no problems with import authorizations in European, US, Asian and Brazilian markets.

Le château Landure :

This place has been inhabited by humans since times immemorial, even from the Stone Age, it is believed. The name Landure comes from the Cathars, who arrived in the 12th century to atone for their sins in calm and peaceful surroundings.
In 1989, Luc Rouvière, the son and grandson of winegrowers, took up the torch to maintain this profession in the tradition of his family.
